This is a simple (yet very effective) trick where the specially gimmicked square cube does all the hard work. Even if you have only just started playing around with spongeballs, this is a great addition to your show.

The effect on the side of the box says "A colored ball disappears and turns into a large red square and a black ball." If you read that for the first time, you might think, that this is going to take quite a bit of sleight of hand, and it's going to be awhile before I actually fool anyone with this trick. Wrong! It's actually quite easy to do and you'll be fooling people in just a few minutes!

On the instructions it describes the effect as "A colored ball is shown and placed in the left hand. It disappears, and is found in the right hand trouser pocket. Placing the colored ball on top of the left closed fist and pushing it in with his forefinger, the Magician, asks the spectator "which hand is the colored ball in?" The spectator is always wrong. The right hand has a large square in it. The left hand has a black ball in it. The original colored ball is now found back in the right trouser pocket."

You can see the versatility of the trick. You can perform it as described, or you can easily work it into your sponge ball routine. Even if you don't use the gimmick (but you will) you can use the square as a production item. It always amazes people when they see a ball change to a cube.
